FOCUS QUARTERLY

This publication is a quiet space for photographic observation—a place where the eye can rest and return. Inspired by the spirit of Camera Work (produced by Alfred Steiglitz) and the belief that photography is both an art and an act of attention, this zine brings together the work of two artists each quarter: one ongoing voice, and one invited guest.

Each issue gathers a collection of images: fragments of stillness, light, texture, and time. Most are mine. One guest joins me each season to share their way of seeing—our works placed in quiet conversation, without need for excessive commentary.

The Photozine is available four times a year and sent out in April, July, October and January. If you want to subscribe the cost is £10 per copy (or £35 annually), inclusive of postage within the UK only. Numbers are limited and is not intended for a wide circulation, however depending on demand, print runs will be expanded. - Send a message from the Contact page for enquiries.

Issue 3 Focus Quarterly

Issue 3 - Winter 2025 (shipping 5th December)

This issue explores the complexity of Layers. Design, shape colour and tones that emerge within the layers of a single capture. A true examination of the observed image.

We also showcase the work of an artistic duo from Germany - Nicole and Claus-Peter Malek. Their current project explores the creative and technical aesthetic involved in the analogue world of wet plate collodion photography.
